My name is Mariah and I am the owner and creator of Essentially Balanced. I'm a mother of four and grandma to three wonderful grand kids. Growing up, I got to see my mother care for women and their families as her time as a midwife and doula. She instilled in me a passion for serving others and I followed in her footsteps becoming a doula for nearly 20 years.

 

After my time as a doula, I wanted to continue to support women in labor and delivery, so I transitioned into the medical field, becoming an Obstetric (OB) nurse. During my time as an OB nurse, I wanted to see if natural products and remedies could compliment treatment plans and possibly replace more harsh medications. I worked to become certified as an OBGYN aromatherapist, and have been using aromatherapy both personally and professionally ever since.

Through the encouragement of friends and family, I decided to share my passion and knowledge of aromatherapy by starting Essentially Balanced. After countless hours of research and hands-on experience with aromatherapy, I hope to share natural alternatives and specially formulated products to continue to help others who want to incorporate more holistic solutions into their lives.
